OPTICS SPECIALIST

Optical solutions play crucial role in executing our strategy “Spectral imaging made easy”. These solutions require a broad range of complex and interrelated work activities including assembly, integration, test, and qualification of state-of-the-art optical systems.

That is why we are looking for you to join our Supply Chain team as an Optics Specialist, Supply Chain / Production to ensure and develop testing and calibration processes and methods for efficient manufacturing of hyperspectral imaging (HSI) products.

Main responsibilities:

  • Development and maintain optical calibration methods
  • Support on optics related problem solving to production and sourcing.
    • In collaboration with production engineering team, supports and leads problem investigations and corrections.
  • To increase the efficiency of manufacturing methods, and support the definition, implementation, and follow-up of production metrics.

Also including:

  • Data performance analysis and development of measurement reports
  • Development of calibration and adjustment software using Matlab
  • Lead improvement projects concerning the manufacturing and optimization of optical instruments.
  • Implement and communicate engineering changes to production, including work instructions.
  • Define new work methods and tools in her/his technical field and train the production team.
  • Participation in product programs ensuring smooth new production transfers
  • Support daily operations with the objective of delivering on time and to quality (sales, sourcing, service, and others).

Skills and qualifications:

  • Experience on imaging optical systems design/testing/manufacturing environment
  • Troubleshooting skills and willingness to solve problems
  • Good networking and negotiation skills in a multicultural environment
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both Finnish and English
  • Master of Science (MSc) or Doctorate (PhD) degree in optical sciences or equivalent preferred
