To support our growth, we are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our Application team. The main responsibility in this role is to support our system sales for airborne systems (manned and unmanned), provide customer training and as well as technical support in the after sales phase. You will be also guiding our customer how to work with hyperspectral data that our sensors produce.  You will be working in a close collaboration both with our Application, Sales and After Sales Support teams.

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will:

  • Collect and specify customer requirements for the system, its installation, operation and maintenance, as well as data processing, considering the customer’s application and operation environment
  • Advice and guide the customer to select the best solution from our product portfolio
  • Support our Sales Team in preparing quotations and participating tenders
  • Participate system final testing prior delivery
  • Provide online or onsite training to the customer
  • Provide after sales support to the customer in case of any challenges
  • Provide valuable input to our product management about customer experience, pain points and improvement ideas
  • Ensure that the customer service level at Specim is always high

The role requires hands-on technical expertise and understanding of complex system level airborne sensor setups as well as processing data they produce.  Our customers are in different parts of the world, in different time zones. Work includes traveling, and there are cases where Technical Sales Engineer needs to work outside office hours. Our company’s working languages are Finnish and English.

Following skills and expertise ensure the success in this task:

  • Previous hands-on work experience with airborne imaging, camera systems, and their airborne installation, operation, and data processing
  • Experience on either manned installations and operation in an airplane / helicopter or unmanned installations on drones
  • Relevant technical background, e.g., BSc or MSc in Engineering
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Customer oriented mindset
  • Excellent team working and communicational skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to travel

Additional skills and experience we value are:

  • Previous knowledge on hyperspectral imaging
  • Image data processing skills
  • Experience on working with different nations and cultures
  • Previous work experience with spectroscopy or data processing
  • Understanding of data calibration and data quality
